question about cat bronchitis

Hello to everyone!

This time i have a question about bronchitis in cats, i would like to know what do you think...

Does feeding a cat with a syringe can cause bronchitis? this may sound weird or even stupid (it kind of does to me, because i have no knowledge or experience in the subject whatsoever) but a lady in the pet shop told me this, she said that because cats can't control the esophagus (or something like that) as we can the food can go the other way into the lung and then get bronchitis... and then i thought well I feed my cat with a syringe at the moment because of her condition (Feline hepatic lipidosis) and i was wondering if there is any truth in this at all?

It is possible for syringe-fed cats (or those receiving liquid meds) to get aspiration pneumonia. You want to make sure not to aim straight down the back of the throat. Have you checked out the Feline Assisted Feeding website? They have lots of tips and information.
