Hannah The NON Pooper

Ok as a new puppy owner, but having raised pups before,I assume that Hannah is going to do poop duties after she eats each meal...Igive her, generally 10-15 mins to digest then take her outside, say "duties" let her sniff for a good 10 mins, and NO GO.

Ok so I take her in and the process begins all over 10 mins later...and still NO GO..

She goes in the morning and in the evening, but nothing in between..and shes getting her lunch....does she really have to go? is it unusual for dogs to go poop just twice a day?

Briggs was like that for a long time. I often wondered if something was wrong... but it's natural... if you get no poops in a day then I would be concerned.... now at one year... we have a fairly regular system...

Cano does both everytime we go out. his poo is very little, but with him going out every 2 hours, it amounts up. When we first got him, he only went a couple times, but would also make messes inside, not even 20 minutes after we got back in, so now he doesn't come back in, until he does poo everytime, or atleast tries.

Hannah is so so cute Blaze now goes twice a day but when he was a little younger it was sometimes 3x. Jordie is always since he was a baby went only 2x. As I am sure it does depend on what food the pup is feed, I am sure you use a great food too Enjoy Hannah she will grow too fast.

The scoop on poop

Goldenblaze

Blaze is a gorgeous golden boy too!

Our vet said "the better the food is,the less Hannah will have to poop" because her body is absorbing all the good nutrients from the food..he said cheaper foods tend to make dogs go more

Shes doing mybe 2-3X per day

I pay 47.10 per bag and would pay much more if I thought it was good for my boys. It is true you get what you pay for the cheap food they need to eat more and poops more too.
Maybe someday Hannah and Blaze can meet, Wiggle waggle walk for HS maybe next yr your city or mine.

I pay about the same for Hannah's food..I always maintain that a good healthy dog food= a good healthy dog, with alot less trips to the vet.I agree that a cheaper dog food, dogs tend to eat more,in order to get the nutrients and fiber

Does blaze eat vegtables too? Dr Stanley Coren said that dogs cant handle alot of raw veg, because they cant digest it,but now and again is a good idea, gives them roughage and cleans the plaque from their teeth

Atleast I am not the only one who gives my dog apples and stuff. I give Cano carrots and broccoli too. He loves them. Occasionally he gets my husband's and my left overs from meal (I know, naughty mommy) but it is only once a week, if that. Cano also seems to LOVE white bread. He gets the end pieces out of every bag. My husband even gave him a piece of sour candy before, and he ate it. That was just a one time thing, got after him about that one.

We have Cano on Nutro Natural Choice. A 40 pound bag costs us only $27 at the commissary (military food store). Everything is cheaper there, because they sell it just a bit above whole sale.

Solara LOVES carrots, she even knows the word and would much prefer them over any other treat. My hubby gave her a peice of lime before, and she snatched that right up, and last night a tiny piece of grapefruit. She'll eat anything. We feed her Science Hill. It is about $35.00 for a bag of food. And it makes her fur very shiny!!!!
