Back to beginning

Hi Skipper was doing a wonderful job we were going in and out of the apartment with no problems he's getting into the elevator with people everything then all of a sudden back to day one barking at people lunging I don't know whats going on, we started our puppy training last week in the class setting and he was good didn't like two of the dogs but hopefully he'll get over it. Is it possible for that to happen where a dog is making great progress then boom back to square one? I don't know where I went wrong.......

Yes. It is not only possible, it is not uncommon. Keep doing what you have been doing and keep going to class.

Time. Lots and lots of time. You will get there.

It must be because that's been my experience with our dogs as well. Weeks can go by and Penny can casually pass strangers on the street without a reaction. Then there are days she thinks she's a junk yard guard dog . With our Lucky, it's not aggression, but fear. Months can go by and he's alright, then once in a while he gets all submissve and anxious when he gets spooked . I guess you can compare it to "three steps forward, one back, two forward, one back....." I don't expect them to be 100% all the time, but it sure would be nice wouldn't it?

Don't lose hope, Tina! Skipper has proven what a good little doggie he's capable of being...I'm sure it will stick with perserverence!
Keep us posted, I've been looking forward to hearing about Skipper's progress.
