Hacking cat

My cat Baron is about 5 years old. A couple of days ago he started hacking, but nothing comes up. I thought it might be hairballs, but he has had those before and can usually bring them up. Does anyone have an idea of what it might be??? I thought perhaps worms? I got a tapeworm, hookworm, roundworm pill from his vet but he just seems so miserable.
Thanks

It could still be hairballs that haven't come out.

There are products, ask your vet....that help with hairballs. They often come in an oily paste that you feed your cat, or place on your cat's paw so that he will lick the cream.

If i were you I'd try it out.

I hope it works for you!!!

Sherri...
The odd thing is that for the past 2 days my DOG! has had what seems to be the exact same problem.. it sounds almost like a hooping (sp?) cough that humans get.. really harsh hacking noise.. im not sure what it could be we suspect it might be from the creek he keeps getting into. we are going to give it another 2 days and then go and get him checked up on if it keeps up. Its almost like something is stuck in his throat.. but he eats fine.. so i dont know.. possible virus? Hrm.. Let me know if you figure it out please, and i will do the same. Thanks in advance.
