Dog sneezing with discharge
Our 8 yr. old Shepar mix dog has been sneezig with yellow discharge and having reverse sneezing since May. We have had her to 2 different vets and she has been on antibiotics since June. She has had a nasal biopsy which did not show cancer. She had a nasal swab which showed:
Coagulase Positive Staph Group (heavy growth) Raoultella planticola/ Klebsiella (Heavy growth) Acinetobacter Iwoffi (heavy growth) She has been on: Prednisone 20 mg and got worse Interceptor (to see if maybe it was nasal mites--no improvement) Ciprofloxacin 250mg SMZ 960 TMS (I think) and a few other medicines, but we don't remember what they were. Neither vet knows what else it could be. She is sneezing with yellow snot several times an hour. Her appetite and mood seem normal. Any suggestions or help would be so appreciated. |

Have you seen a specialist yet? If the vets you've already seen can not accurately diagnose your dog, I suggest this be the next step. Either one of them can refer you or you can call the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of U. of Pen. DOn't forget to bring a copy of your dog's file with all test results.
