Thumbs up Tommy loves raw!

So I've had my kitten on raw food for about 2 weeks now and he is crazy about it. He's getting really good at crunching up bones and I don't have to cut his meals up for him very much anymore. He has so much fun ripping that chicken apart! He also loves organ meats, especially liver. :yuck Even though it's a bit more work than canned food I think it's definitely worth it. I bought a whole chicken and cut it up then froze it in meal-sized portions. I just have to throw a couple of baggies in the fridge every morning and we're ready to go. I do watch him carefully while he's eating, but that's part of the fun!

Also, it's way cheaper than what I was feeding before (Wellness). I payed 10$ for a big organic chicken, and he's only about halfway through it. I'm soooo glad I've decided to switch. I'm going to start blogging about it very soon so I'll keep everyone updated. Hope everyone else is having luck with raw!

This is the time to get them on raw. My foster kittens prefer raw to any canned food (even fancy feast). I started giving them meat at 4 weeks old.

Keep up the good work!

That's great! I so wish my two felines would eat raw meaty bones - but right now, I am just very happy to see them eating ground raw chicken, turkey, cornish hen, rabbit and beef. Its hard to get the older one to chew even on chicken necks becuase he's had a few tooth extractions over the years. But next time I get a kitten, I'll be training him/her to chew on necks and wings.

Mine love it too. I gave them the liver and heart from the turkey, the dogs shared the neck (cut into 2 peices of course). I also always give the cats some of the raw ground beef when I make spaghetti or a shepher's pie or something, they love it. Raw egg yolk is high up on their list of yummy stuff as well.

welcome Pezza! and welcome fellow raw feeder.

i had to work up to the bone chewing and the chicken rib bones are very very thin and easy to chew even my littlest cat can chew it. its worked wonders for my one cats gingivitis. give it a shot. maybe the one cat will surprise you.
