I'd love to get a couple of Himmies but my 3-kitty crew says NO WAY!!
I am sure they'll have a home in no-time,hopefully together

Just proof that purebreds do end up in shelters too. So sad.

oh we get lots of himmies and siamese at our shelter, there are siamese strays in town, we have two fixed/declawed ones that run loose in my neck of the woods, hubby died and wife put them out, she never did like them, I've tried often to trap them, to no avail

Those cats would be called "Flame Point Himalayans" ---- beautiful cats. Wonder why they ended up at the shelter?

New baby coming, allergies, no time, too much hair, messing up the furniture, BF/GF/Hubby/Wife doesn't want them...

Let me add another. Turns out they are a little bit of work. You can't just simply buy them and put them in a room and ignore them. They demand food, water, clean litter boxes, and attention. Go figure.

most of the siamese and himmies end up in our shelter because of students at the college, it seems to be a fad to get an exotic cat, then at the end of term (2 weeks ago) they all hand them in at the shelter or put them on kijiji. My sis in laws got theirs that way, one adopted two and the other adopted one. Our city waits for this time of year to adopt them because we know the students are leaving.

I agree, but when it comes to cats, there are not many laws or regulations.
The first law should be,breeding left and right(like my current neighbor)should be prohibited

DogDancer, those cats are beautiful,stunning...but so are my ordinary cat-cats
