My cat doesn't "meow"
Whenever my cat opens her mouth to meow nothing comes out. sometimes a little squeek or a kitten type meow comes out. Does this mean anything? She's perfectly healthy and she's 2 years old. I just thought maybe someone would know.

If she's been checked by a vet then at least you know it's nothing with her health, so that's good.
Was she a stray? I have a girl who was a stray for about 3 years, and she very rarely moews, only when I have her in the carrier taking her to the vet. Most of the time she coos and chirps. I think I either read it on some site or maybe here, that cats that had been strays as kittens are taught by their mother to make very little noise, and not meow, so as to not give away where they are.

I've had 2 cats that were like that and nothing was wrong with them. I guess it's like humans whereby some talk loudly, quietly, fast, slow, etc. One of mine now has this really high pitched meow. I used to always think she was hurt or something. I have gotten used to it now.

Doesn't mean anything, the Babygirl in my sig is a squeaker. In eight and a half years we've never heard her do a real meow. All she does is this little squeak.

Mine, too. A big 9-y-o 16 pounder and all she does is let out little ladylike squeeks.
