Keep your kittens inside!

I found a dead kitten in the road this morning, it had literally just been run over and was still struggling, but died very quickly, right after I picked it up. It was so gruesome, just heartbreaking. I ran into a nearby laundromat, trailing blood, and asked the woman who works there - and who knows me by sight - if she had a rag to give me. She refused to get involved, cold as ice. So I grabbed some paper towels and wiped up the blood on the floor as I went (my only transgression).

PLEASE ANYONE READING THIS WHO OWNS KITTENS, please keep them inside however much they beg! Their brains are literally still developing, like a human baby's, and they have no judgement. And contrary to popular opinion, they cannot find their own way home.

PROTECT YOUR ANIMALS!

Sorry to hear that. It happens though  I'm lucky enough that my neighborhood is set back about a mile in each direction from the major traffic. So luckily none of my ferals or their offspring have ever been hit by a car.

Poor little kitten

Wish my stupid cat would stop going out the door. Only a matter of time before he gets hit by a train (seriously.... train tracks on the other side of the woods)

Oh badger, what a horrible thing to come across. It's bad enough to find them dead in the road, but one that's still struggling for life.

 Badger Thank you for all you do, for this little one it was being a loving person there to comfort the wee one while it passed, so s/he didn't go alone.

Such a sad story.

As hard as it was for you I'm glad it was you that was the one to come along as others would have walk/drove by. I can't believe the coldness of the woman that works at the laundromat.

OMG Badger, another little life brutally ended
Thank you for taking him off the street

As for the woman in the laundry, there is an epidemic of"don't want to get involved"compassion seems to have run dry in many today
