Help he won't stop growing!!!

I have a puppy and he was given to me from a friend,he has gone through 4 homes that I know of before mine and he was cute and I just couldn't see him being put in the pound so I took him home. My Queensland healer is only a year old so I figured he would mellow him out. Ha was I mistaken I have had him for about 4 months and he was around 2 months when i got him never did I think he would get the size he is now. I am thinking he is somekind of mastiff because his body is so solid and the short hair he is so heavy but what i need to ask is do any mastiff breeds have the ridge of hair in the middle of their necks? And are they talkers he won't shut up he is always talking. What size of ears do they have? If anyone can send any info on mastiffs or if you think he is something else please tell me!!

If you post a picture of him here, I'm sure someone on this board can give you and idea of what breed he is.

You say he has a ridge of hair on his back?

Maybe he is part rodesion ridgeback (the have a tuft of fur starting at the neck that runs down the back). He doesn't look full though. Looks like a pitt bull actually.. but also a little like a great dane. Does he have really big feet and long legs? Could be a dane cross with ridgeback.

Yes he does have a ridge but.

His ridge is on his neck and really only when his hair raises up like other dogs but it is only his ridge that raises not really on his back though. He is so wide chested and yes he does have long legs he is probably 2 foot high and only 6 months. Do either of those breeds talk alot with a wide variaty of sounds he does all the time.

Hi gamevixen, here is a pic of an rhodesian ridgeback. and as per AKC males are between 25-27 inches, and weigh up to 85 Lbs.

That face looks very pitty to me. But as far as the long legs I dont know.
My pit talks alot and is very vocal.

but now that i see that pic maybe he does have rhodesian in him.. His face is just not as pointed

Swatting him with do nothing but make him scared of you, living with puppies you simply need to keep things out of his reach, over time he won't find those things interested, you should also teach him "leave it" and "drop it" in case he does get something.
