Losing beloved kittens 1 by 1

Yesterday morning my sister went to pick up some kittens. Someone called for help and they contacted her because they know that she (just like me) would help. Someone found 4 kittens in a dumpster and the person has a job and also studies so it wasn't possible for her to give them the full time attention they need.
So she went to pick them up (my sister's at the moment living with my parents) they could tell they were about 2 days old at the most, still with umbilical cords.
It was raining when they were found so they were all wet and cold. When my sister pick them up since the first moment she was alarmed because they were cold.
I'm going to try to make this short. My mom, my sister, even my dad have done SO much for them. My sister contacted me because I've cared and nursed for new born kittens before. I spent the whole night up until the morning via Skype with her and the kittens. I've cried my eyes out and have a most horrible headache.
All you could possibly find in a guide for kitten nursing and care has been done and more. 2 of them grew weaker faster (they were 4).
Apollo (a ginger tabby) was the one to go first. My mom stayed up warming him up, even singing to him.
Nina (the calico) stayed all night with us and her little body gave up today late morning.
Like an hour ago we lost Pichi (a little cow kitten).
We only have Junior left (a gray/brown tabby). They all fought so hard to stay. Nina died in my sisters arms, after looking after her all night, keeping her hydrated and warm.
God I'm so sad. We suspect some respiratory distress and dehydration. Since yesterday they called their vet for more guidance.
And all because some @ssh#le dumped those precious babies in the dumpster.
Junior's a great fighter he's hanging in there but he seems to be deteriorating.
My sister blames herself she thinks she caused it but I keep telling her she really gave them her best. I think it was the conditions in which they were disposed of so soon too, practically after birth from their mother.

We decided to give them names as soon as possible when we noticed how they were fading as a way to tell ourselves that their pass through this world although so brief meant something.
Well I just needed to vent a bit. Even when I'm not physically there I've witnessed it all and it has touched me deeply.
If you can help me pray for Junior in your own way, or sending him good thoughts, whatever you prefer. I hope at least one can be saved

Such a sad story. I feel so badly for your sister--she's done so well by the little tykes and now feels guilty because even the best was not enough. I love your family, Koteburo. Angels, all of you!

There are definitely prayers for Junior coming from this direction. Hang in there, Junior!! Please keep us posted on how he's doing.

Apollo, Nina and Pichi

Oh no, what a heart-breaking situation! Sorry that you and your family are going through this because some cowardly piece of sh!t for a human thought the life of these little beings was disposable. I'm pretty sure that Karma will catch up to them some day. In the meantime, I'm sending massive good vibes for Junior to pull through.

Thank you so much.
I talked to my mom this evening and she was holding Junior. She thinks maybe besides the regular nursing and care routine if he feels something alive and warm and bigger and her heart beat that could help him pull through but he's losing his appetite and his strength.
Even my dad who's kind of though (actually quite tough) had a blurry eye for a moment when they were burying the kittens under one of our late cats favorite big flower bush.
I'll update with Junior news. I really hope he can make it.

Apollo, Nina and Pichi ♥

Koteburo I'm so sorry for you and your entire family, and of course mostly the kittens. RIP sweet kitties at least you passed knowing warmth and love. I truly hope the scum (nicest thing I can think to type here) who did this gets payback one day. A bus would work nicely. Please tell your sister that we here all know that she did her best and not to feel guilt. Remind her that she gave these kittens the only love they knew. I worry now for the mother of those kittens as she is probably still with the above mentioned scum.

I'm so sorry, Koteburo. I saw your tribute to them. They touched quite a few hearts and they will be remembered. As will your family, who went the extra mile for them!

Koteburo - Thank God for people like you

The good Karma that you put out helps balance the bad in this world.

And there IS a lot of good in this world...the way you live your life proves it.
You have my utmost respect.

I agree with DogDancer, you have to feel sorry for the mother cat, if this is what the pond scum would do to the babies, can you imagine the crappy life the mom has?

Thank you for your kind encouraging words. I'll send them to my sister as well (she's absolutely devastated). She's a doctor and as a doctor she could identify one by one the signs of respiratory distress (since are similar to human's) and it was so painful for her to watch and for the kittens to go through it.
I also thought about the mother cat since they found the kittens. Those were the same concerns I have. Unfortunately there is no way we can track her at all. My guess is that the kittens were taken away from their mother's side right at birth. They were covered still in birth fluids and some blood and it rained on them. I guess we were against all odds. It's still hard to talk about it when I try to tell my husband can't help the tears. Although he knows already. He's a big animal lover as well and he has his own stories of rescues himself
but he's stronger than me in that regard.
Last night I stayed with my sister again on Skype to keep her company and Junior in his last hours.

I appreciate your support and kindness.
And I hope for the future for stories of rescues with happy endings.
