Unhappy My cat can't eat dry food

I have two kittens brother & sister. Well they are about 14 months old. They were stray and i had them spayed & neurtered along with all of there shots. Vet said they were both healthy. But my male has a hard time eating dry food. He acts like it hurts his teeth. His teeth are real small and he has some gaps in - between them on sides. I wouldn't think he was teething coz of his age. So he swallows his dry food whole when he's real hungry and even when he's not and i play 'toss the pellets' with him to get him to bite into them some. Anyway, he has a sensitive stomach with gas pains from it. So i put him on science diet for 'sensitive stomach', with hair ball treetment dry as well (i have 3 cats who all eat same) They are small pellets but he still swallows them. And his stomach problems seem better. I feed him soft(can)food twice daily so he gets fed. His teeth are looking bad and he has a fit if i try to brush them. I hope i won't have to take him to the vet all the time for cleaning. He won't eat the dry if i moisten it either. Any suggestions??

i heard somewhere that canned wet cat food is bad for their teeth, ever try just putting some water in her food to make the dry food a little mushy? might help?
