Layla's Trip Up the St Lawrence

Well, we actually got back 10 days ago, but I told myself I wasn't allowed back on here until I took care of all the admin stuff that comes with a new school semester. So now that that's all done.....
The trip was amazing! We started out with a 10 hour train ride from Montreal to Mont-Jolie. Via was soooooo accomodating! The porter told me that he has pets at home, and he always misses them when he's on the train (which is most of the time) so he completely understood that I wanted to be with Layla. I was only supposed to go back to where she was at the 2 major stops, but he told me I could go back on my own whenever i felt like it, and so long as the doors were closed, I could let her out of her crate even when the train was moving. The trip was a little stressful for her, I know, but it was deffinately a lot better than it could have been!!!
We got to our house at about 4 am, slept for three hours and then it was vaction time! Our house is right on the river, so Layla litterally spent 1/2 the time in the river chasing everything; fish, birds, seaweed, seals (but them only once, because as soon as they "barked" at her, she got to wimpy and left them alone). When she wasn't in the ocean she was either 1) basking in the sun on the stone patio 2) playing fetch with my brother on the huge lawn or 3) since we have a pool, that is SOOOO cold, it became Layla's (supervised) swimming pool. Except my dad likes cold water too, so he would spend hours each day with her, playing: both of them would stand on opposite edges of the pool, my dad would throw a ball to the middle, and then theyd dive in and race to get the ball (Layla won every time ) Needless to say, she was a spoiled little doggy for those 2 weeks!!!
On the way home we stayed at the Loews hotel: what a GREAT, pet-friendly hotel!!! I would reccomend Loews to anyone who wants to travel with their dog, and get special treatment because of them!!!

Anyways, I only have two photos, because my camera fell into the river while we were out kayaking
Here's Layla at the train station, where I had a total of ten people ask me if they could take photo's of my "beautiful and well behaved dog!!"
