the chipmunks eat side by side with the rabbits, with any of the birds...but once a squirrel approaches the race is on, they run around and up and down the tree's till one reaches the top and the other goes for the feed.

Squirrels and chipmunks make great kitty-sitters, I see, chico! If they're out there, you know exactly where the cats will be!!! Same with the dogs! When they're squirrel watching they always stay out of trouble!

We have about 6 gray squirrels, 3 red squirrels and a couple of chipmunks out under the feeders right now...they chase a little bit, but they all stick around to eat. I wonder if that means madame hazel is putting out too much seed.

We do, too. At least now that nesting has started in earnest we're down to about a gallon of seed a day, much of it going to the squirrels. To make up for the lack of traffic at the seed feeder, the hummers are putting on a show...they drink about 2 liters of nectar a day!

I just noticed the chipmunk peeking out from under the block in that second shot!! Sooo cute!!!
