Smile Some of"my"Crows

Here they are, eating brekki, the ones with matt heads are the babies(boy are they noisy)
I know most people hate them, but what's there to hate, they are after all birds and very, very smart.
On the pics you see 5,but there are 10,about 6 are babies.

What a lovely grouping, Chico!

And now you have 10? They must have called in their buddies when they realized you'd opened the pizza bar.

You have sea gulls, too?

Yes,I don't live far away from Lake Ontario and there are plenty of Sea-Gulls,they seem to be afraid of the Crows, which is a good thing.

I don't mind feeding Sea-Gulls at Myrtle Beach SC,but not in my driveway.

Chico2, your crows are beautiful and it's amazing how they communicate with each other in their own ways. I've noticed the same with the new orioles that came to my yard this year as they bicker at each other which is rather cute and funny!

I here ya on the seagulls too! They're a dime a dozen here along the Niagara River.

chico2, I admire the crow's intelligence and how they care for each other but come next month hand me a gun. No,just joking, I wouldn't shoot them but we have to hunt them away. Our lambs will be due then and the crows will attack a weak and defenceless lamb. I know they are doing what comes naturally, but they can be a curse.

Goldfields I can so understand that,I would do anything to protect the Lambs too.

I started a long time ago, with one wounded Crow,he only had one leg, could not hold his bodyweight up.
So when he was here I fed him food-scraps.
The day he brought a mate and later babies,I was so excited,as if I'd won the lottery

Then we had the West Nile virus really bad here in Oakville, killed off most of the Crows and we had very few for a couple of years,so I am glad to see 10 in a family group.

I have over the years learned their different sounds and what they mean...hubby thinks I was a crow in another life

LOL, apparently the plural for crows is MURDER. A murder of crows. Maybe that came about because of the lambs? Not a very nice term.

We have a family of crows too. It's nice to see and hear them back after a couple of years of abscence. We particularly like to hear the babies. It's easy to identify the baby crow voices.

They are so smart. Did anyone see the TV show on how crows can identify individual people?

Crows must put up signs like the stray cats.... "good food here" and invite all their friends! I get the odd one here....usually in the far back of our yard, they don't usually mingle with the little birds for food.

Crows do not go to my feeders,I don't think they eat birdseeds, they do go to my birdbaths for a drink though.
