Jake's before and after weight loss pics!

As many of you know, my big boy Jake has slimmed down as of late.. He was 17 lbs for quite a long time, until I switched to exclusively feeding him Wellness grain free canned food, and he's now sitting at 12.76 lbs! (thanks baby scale! ).

I don't have a lot of pictures of him before on my camera, and it's hard to take some after shots, because he's so fast, but here's what I have..

1. Here's Jake from a couple years back
2. Here's Jake in a similar pose in October before the diet change (I used to think he looked slimmer when he was sitting )
3. Here's Jake from the sameish angle now

I'm so proud of my boy!

The first picture doesn't do him justice, but he refuses to pose the way I want him to! It's hard to tell from that angle, but he's lost weight in his face alone! It's like looking at a different cat - every day I'm amazed at how slim and trim he is!

Yeah, he's definitely at his ideal - I'm working to keep him at the weight he is now, because he's a big kitty to begin with. I want to keep him close to 13lbs.

He's looking great!! You ought to post his photos in the weight loss challenge thread . Hmmm, I wonder what Wellness tastes like .

Give Jake an extra hug from me .

That's what I said to my fiance last night - I wish I could switch to canned food and in a few months drop a good chunk of my body weight.. then I thought about it, and decided nahh.. Wellness is good food for cats, but if I won't even eat Spam, their chicken variety isn't going to do the trick either

Wow he does look really good, you can tell he's slimmed down quite a bit. I wish I had before and after pics for Fagan and Palomine... they really dropped the extra pounds when we moved.... I think it was all the cardio they got from suddenly having stairs!

I never tasted it but it certainly smells better than other canned cat food

Thanks guys! I honestly thought it was never going to happen - but that's because I was feeding him Iams Weight Management
He's got so much more energy now - of course, he has to deal with Alley every day, which helps.. I guess..

Wow, Jake is looking good, great job, phoozles.

My daughter's cats lost a lot of weight after switching from Iams weight control to Wellness canned with some Orijen.

I feed them 4 times a day, only because Jake likes to eat frequently. I would split a 5.5 oz can of Wellness into 5 sections, and feed him one per meal (so that there would be one section left over for the next day). We feed them first thing in the morning, again a couple of hours later, then around 7 PM when I get home from work, and again at 10 PM.

Jake used to be a free feeder, but he got on board with the schedule pretty quickly, and he can definitely tell time - as soon as it's 10 PM - he's meowing for his late dinner!

Are you sure he's sick from not having food available at all times? It could be that he's allergic to the food instead ...
