So 65% of 13 year olds can count the number of pornos watched ....
Jeez, all I had when I was 13 was a few contraband pages ripped out of a playboy, which were well hidden within the walls of my treehouse.

Groundbreaking study? It took a study to figure this out?
If you have a teenager, if they have access to the net, if they're ever on it unsupervised, what do ya think they're using it for? Obviously not for math homework In all seriousness though, this article makes porn out to be the big problem, and I don't think that's the case. So they're looking at porn, that's not all that disturbing to me, a large majority of teenagers will ALWAYS seek that out. The bad part to me is that they have the TIME to look at that much. Take the computer and TV out of your childs room, they don't need full access to it at all hours of the day/night. You, family and friends are their biggest role model, stop using the television and computer as a babysitter. (That goes for the videogames too) I'm not saying no access to these things, but it's better as a reward (say a certain amount of time on the net or watching tv), than a several hour daily activity. Videogames and movies have a similar effect to porn - allowing someone to immerse themselves in an activity that they may or may not be willing to do in real life. I think allowing a child to immerse themselves in ANY such activity for hours a day is probably not all that healthy. Kids need to learn boundries and get a realistic sense of how things work by going outside and actually interacting with people. I could type several more paragraphs, but I think I'll stop there before I go on a full out rant lol. |

Big issue of course. Its unfortunate that most parents are not able to help thier children develop a healthy attitude about thier sexuality.
