Rescue problem
Seriously what is WRONG with this woman?!?!
I have Suni for a week now, she's very adorable and nice and perfect for families, she's awesome, me and my friend found 4 VERY good, stable, dog knowing people who have time to care for a dog, we gave the references, and she doesn't even LOOK at the paper. she just wants the poor pup to be tossed and turned from one forster house to another. I seriously don't get it... She doesn't cry anymore, she's clean and really good with kids and other pets (including cats and rodents) Yet, the foster lady refuses to find her a home, even though we provide her multiple GREAT Choice. She's being totalitarian and refuses to even LOOK at the people we brought her, and doesn't even look for a permanent home for Suni. I can't keep anymore since my boyfriend started to work more hours than before and same here, so I called the rightful foster and she can't take her as well because of a landlady (it's pretty chaotic) I was supposed to care for her for a few days, not a few months... But we worked hard to find good families, one of them is the brother of my boyfriend, his gf and kids, they fell in love with the pup and the pup loves them so much. I do not get it!!! So because ... I don't even know why, Suni is going to be stuck going from foster home, to foster home, to another foster home, many times, without even having a chance at a real family?! Is that even NORMAL for a rescue to NOT even WANT to find a good PERMANENT home for pups?! URG Seriously, im flabergasted here I wanted to foster one day when I have more time, but if its to traumatize dogs even more, I won't have any of it. are all rescues like that?

Maybe the rescue doesn't think that the family is qualified.
Do you have open communication with them to ask why? |

I would understand for 2 of them that I sent the adoption info, since they dont have much money. but check that one, family one Stay at home mom Engineer dad two kids who are gentle with dogs. a Home with a fenced, large yard, no pool. They are active and she had dogs all her life, knows how to train them Other family school principal who has already two labs (which might be the prob) who are known to be nice and kind with other dogs stable family, large home (like...mcmansion) and mc-backyard Both are willing to sign a neuter contract and vet care edit - oh! and for the first family I can personaly vouche, they are family, I know them and the mom is AMAZING with dogs (seriously, shes a saint (to deal with my boyfriend brother everyday, she has to be LOL jk

Not all rescues are equal.
I know when I went looking for my two, there was one place who wouldn't adopt out an animal that hadn't been there for a said amount of time because they wanted the ones that had been there the longest to get homes...I can see the sense in that...kinda...BUT I adopted because of the cats, not because of the time they were in a shelter. In your situation, is this woman the owner of the rescue or an intake worker? If she isn't the owner, try talking to the owner...if she is the owner, then I have nothing

Strange. You would want to re-home into a qualified family and then get another into rescue. There must be somesort of reason.
Anyways, if you are not satisfied with this rescue you can always go with another. They all run differently so you will find your nitch somewhere. |
