LP, without going into years of similar experiences with you when my kids were in school, I just want to say I can relate to your anger and frustration and concerns.
You have every right to be concerned, and I hope SM is never again at the receiving end of the threats or mistreatment.

Overreacting
The comment by the teacher was totally unacceptable. There are a lot of other things that he could have said to stop the boys from doing what they were doing.
I would suggest you follow up your concern in writing to the principal. If you aren't satisfied with the way it is handled at the school level then follow it up in writing with the school board. I am going to pm you privately with some information.
