Baileys(Cocker)strange behaviour..
I am concerned with Baileys behaviour lately, the neighbors Cocker we've been walking for several years now.
Twice last week, she refused to go outside, she would sit there shivering ,her whole body shaking. It happened again yesterday, but today she was happy to go for a walk. I told the owner, but don't believe they will do anything about it. She(Bailey)is deaf from an ongoing earinfection and still has smelly muck in her ears. Could she be shivering that badly, because she's in pain??? They think she also has a touch of arthritis, beeing about 13yrs old. Does anyone know why she shivers like that and her heart is beating like crazy..? Not every day,but it has been 3 days where she just refuses to come out

Yes, both trembling and a rapid heartbeat can be indicative of pain. We've got two, today, doing the same thing--Cass and Grace. Grace ate something that made her sick and has a tummy ache and Cass has a sore left arm--both of them were trembling earlier and didn't want to go out...

Poor Bailey
And yes, like Hazel said, trembling and a fast heartbeat can mean the poor girl is hurting. Hopefully they will take her to the vet. Hazel, Nookie has a sick tummy too... and some horrible gas He has come in to the den where Shaun and I play and left a couple of "presents", then walked out. Of course... Shaun blamed me, then I blamed him!

Chico, when my last two ACDs were alive, Cuddles gave Susie a very nasty bite on the shoulder which, because of her coat hiding it, wasn't deemed to be bad till the following day(a crush injury, not blood everywhere type of wound). What woke me up to it was that when I put my arm around Susie I could feel a fine tremor running through her body. I'm sorry but I feel like shaking your neighbors and yelling at them to take that dog to the vet ASAP. Susie was in pain and that Cocker no doubt is also. Ask them to imagine how sick they'd be if they sat and trembled with pain. I hope Cass, Grace and Nookie feel better soon. Hugs for all 3 sickies. Sorry, all 4 I should say. Bailey too.
