kitten breeds

I love the old applehead siamese. Now I am looking at Tonkinese. I am wanting to know about the long term health of these cats. I would like to know if anybody knows if there are any genetic related medical issue related to this breed.

A friend of mine had two 'applehead' siamese (neutered, male) cats for 18 and 19 years, respectfully. She feed them science diet and never had a problem. She then purchased two 'oriental' type siamese cats; a male and female. The male died of kidney failure at 9 and the female lives on. I lost my own domestic shorthair cat at 5 yrs from liver and kidney failure and she never left the apartment. I now have a 14 year old persian mix that is fat, but doing well. My 2 year old devon rex female has already had 9 teeth pulled. I think it's just the luck of the draw..........
