oh I love it. It's beautiful. I wish you were my neighbor so I could adore your roses up close... (I'd get my own, but I'd probably kill them)

He he that sounded like Mr Rogers... Can you be my... Will you be- my neighbor?

Beautiful! I love roses.

The best things I've discovered about plants is basically leaving them alone. The more I leave them alone the better they are. I just water them once every week to a week and a half and they do just fine -- inside and outside. As for rose bushes, they are easy. If you do kill them just pop over to Walmart and buy a new one for $5. I'll take some pictures of some of the plants I have here and post them eventually. I've been waiting for my birds of paradise to bloom, but nothing yet. We also are growing a lobster/crab claw. Once that one gets a little bigger and starts to bloom I'll post those pictures. Oh and I noticed my Oleander is starting to bloom too! I love gardening! Woo Hoo!

After reading that, there was hope for me until I read this bit:

If you want I could give you a few plant names that I have that I seriously water way less than once a week, more like once a month. It's in the house that gets some natural light, but I usually forget about it with where it's located and it's probably in the best shape of all my plants and it huge at this point and I only paid $5 for it. I also have a few outside that are in direct light that I don't water at all and they are fine with whatever the environment provides for them. Remember I live in Florida so there are times where there is no water at all and they still seem to spread like crazy. Let me know. I'll try to take some pictures and post them later. I just don't know what the man did with the camera. Oh yeah, and my laptop is broke, but I might be able to use his. (The computer I'm on right now isn't the greatest)

Well, maybe it is because you live in Florida, but I water my garden every day, unless I get a break and it rains.
My roses, about 10 different kinds, need tending almost every day too, deadheading, checking for Aphids, fungus etc...some of my roses are older than most of you girls
But,I am not working so I have lots of time to do what I LOVE to do.
Even staining my deck was fun,stain 4 boards,take a break,stain 4 more,take a break but it's all done now

chico2, have you tried planting marigolds and garlic around your rosebushes? My Mom always did, and rarely had any trouble with aphids.

That rose is beautiful. I wish I could keep roses but all plants hate me. I do just what my mother tells me and they die, but for her they would turn into a jungle.

Skryker,I spray them with a soap-mixture and it usually takes care of the Aphids, fungus is a bigger problem, since the bushes loose all the leafs, but I think I am on top of things this year, not too much rain.
Thank's for the advice though
Prin,it's nice to"work"when nobody tells you what to do,more breaks than work!

Beautiful rose, Chico! I love yellow roses. Here, the yellow ones are beautiful in the Spring and in the Fall. But the hot sun seems to fade them in the Summer. The rose beetles seem to prefer them too.
