Now how am I going to do this?
Had to take Abby to the vets today. Her insision area had a big black something on it. My guess was a scab and she just wouldn't even let me look at her let alone touch to check her out. The vet took out her stitches, and I guess what had happened was Abby has been too active, ( imagine a shih tzu too active ) causing the area to swell causing the stitches to rip through, making bleeding there for the black from the stitching and dried blood. Sound awful,, but she is actually fine.. 3 more days of the coller and 3 times a day I"m to clean her area with hydrgyen poroxide.
Now here is the problem. How am I going to wipe the area. Abby goes crazy when I even try to look at it. Every have a pup in your arms that wants down so bad you can't hardly hold them.. Thats my Abby. Feet kicking, head turnning, body wiggling,, I sure could use some good helpful hints how how I"m going to do this cleanning. |

How about wrapping her in a towel...The only trouble is if the incision is down her belly you may have to cover her from the head down...still can work though...Hope your baby feels better soon!

Sorry to hear about Abby
It sounds like the same battle I face twice a day with a now very wriggly Ethel trying to give her her pill.. Can your hubby hold her while you get in there with the cloth?

It's definitely going to take two people to do the treatment! If hubby can hold her down on her side.....one hand on her shoulder/neck.....one hand on her butt.....then you can quickly clean the area.
Just a thought but.....instead of dabbing the peroxide on her incision....what if you got a spray bottle, put the peroxide in it and then just had to give a quick spray or two to the area? (the only reason I suggest this is because when Buster had his hot spot, the meds they gave me were in a spray bottle....it worked great with two people!) Good luck and let me know how it works!!!!
