Prin, it is uncanny don't you think? Rosco even has the same white on his chin that gives him a bit of a beard.

i think great dane
Not that i'm an expert, but it looks like she has some great dane in her. (Remember with out the croped ears they are usually floppy) Her height and muzzle area and her general body width tend to lien me in that direction. Danes are usually pretty mellow guys 2. Having been around several newfies(MY aunt always had at least one and did rescue dogs as well) they are much thicker dogs and have a more blunt box muzzle. Add that to the labs usual thickness in the chest u should have a very thick dog. Give u and idea my malamutes(also thick chested dogs)were 26- or 27 at the should and 105-115 not fat just thick solid dogs. She looks to lean for newfie blood. Alot of newfie cross have thier webbed feet as well. See if u can find a dane breeder to give thier opinion. Good luck

LOL I DID!! I asked a dane breeder once and I got burned!! She said, "If he's a mix, why would you want to know what he is? Why you want another one like that?"
Oh his feet are very webbed. Trollsfire, that beard makes him look distinguished. It's his silver chin... Mark of maturity? |

Ya know YOur dog looks exactly like mine, she is a golden retriever crossed with a black lab. She has a very long tail and her ears are pretty long also. Her temperment is extremely laid back and she swims very well also. I am trying to add a pic but it says the file is too big so i am working on it lol .

Boo is about 90lbs now- how much does your baby weigh? Black labby mixes always look similar to each other.... But they're all cuties nonetheless, right?

Prin, I saw a shaved Newfie the other day. It actually had a lion cut going on. I don't know why someone would do that to the poor thing, but they did....
Anyways, it WAS Boo. Definitely some Newfie in him. Newfie/Lab cross. His face even looks more like a Newfie than a Dane. Especially in the ears that lie so flat to his head. He's so beautiful... Oh and P.S. Sadie's eating Solid Gold Beef Jerky treats for agility. She LOVES them! I bought them in your honor. |

I know this thread is kinda old but I saw this dog at the park today that looked so familiar and I asked what it was and it was a lab/doberman mix. Then I realized why it was so familiar, it looked exactly like Boo! I wouldn't have guessed lab/dobie looking at the dog I thought lab/dane but she assured me it was dobie. Anyways wish I had a pic but here's a couple lab/dobies off the net. Maybe Boo is a lab/dobie/newf, or maybe a newf/dobie, who knows

Here's another lab/dobie mix.

Oh, Boo isn't dobie. I had dobies all my life, and even though I would LOVE it if he was dobie, he just doesn't have it... But I have to say, those pics look pretty Boo-ey.
The thing we know for sure is that Boo has pointer in him. The ears are nothing but pointer. Hey, aren't pointers and dobies somewhat similar in history? I wish people could meet him. He's never what people expect after seeing pics. |

This is the only pic I have that gives you some idea how huge he is. See how long his legs are? He's 29" tall at the shoulder. Last edited by Prin; October 25th, 2005 at 11:37 AM. |

Wow he is a big boy, I never relized how tall he is. There must be some dane in there somewhere.

OOOH! So Cute
I definitely don't know for sure, he's really cute. Niki is part lab part border collie, she looks like the collie but she has lab feet (big) lab legs (long) and she sheds water, dust and fur like crazy. So I'm going to agree to part lab family. Definitely all cute though. Those eyes, that coat, I'm in love.

Boo... Yeah, I need one of him standing next to the man... This is the closest I found... Boo is the farthest away. In the front is a 85lb greyhound mix, then 60lb Jemma. |

How about Boo beside a 7 year old rottie? You have an idea of how big rottie females are right?

Love the pics, what is that tail? It sure looks solid, totally un-lab isn't it? I find it hard to tell because all Nik's lab parts are hidden by collie parts. She is so big, has a vet or a breeder made a guess? Whatever she is she's lovely.

Lately I have been finding that Blue eyed dogs don't really mean they have Husky in them. The reason I say this is there was a Purebred Rottie up for adoption and he actually had blue eyes. They were almost white. We were actually amazed by it.It looked amazing. Ummmm Prin,it's the Mals with the curled up tail, not the Huskies. The tails on the Huskies lay low.And that I know because my sister has 3 of them... Oh and for the man, very nice....

Really? The mals? But she's definitely not big enough to be a mal. She plays with huskies like a husky (with the body checking etc) and she's vocal like a husky... You can't mess with it, Mona, she's the only one we're sure of, and you can't take that away from us.
I'm telling you though, you have to see Jemma and Boo. They're not the same in pics. gottahavepets, try asking a breeder about a mutt... They're not too accomodating. I asked a dane breeder about Boo, and she said, "Why would you want to know?" and I said, "so I can maybe find another one like him." She answered "Why would you want another one of those?" Maybe there are other breeders that are nicer... |
