More babies spotted today
These ones are newly hatched. Mom Midge is just a spawning machine, they're spawning again this evening so I may just have more babies to come yet. I'll definately be looking for homes for a bunch next spring for sure.

Holy mackeral....Midge is definitely not being a koi girl... Sorry...I'm in a punny mood tonight...
You're going to have to start a full-time koi adoption business if this keeps up! At least you know your pond is well-maintained--ideal as a koi nursery!

Yes it's well maintained, spent 4 hours maintaining it Saturday. Would have been much less upkeep to put in a swimming pool.
I have a 8 foot round portable show pond that I'll have to set up next spring and put some of the adoptees out into it as I can catch them. Not looking forward to it. I'd love to be able to keep all of them. I hope Midge decides to start spawning only a couple of times a summer from now on. If she wasn't so beautiful, she'd be the smart choice to rehome. An all male pond would solve the problem. Cindy |
