Himalayans, Somalis need homes

I've just been told about a number of young Somali and Himalayan cats who need homes. If anyone is looking for either of these specific breeds, please pm me. There is a fee to cover vaccs and neutering or spaying, probably around 120-150$. I saw one of the Somalis at the vet's last week, he is gorgeous, very delicate with a long, flame-coloured coat. Will try to get more pics.

Oh, how I wish I could have more cats. I love somalis and himis. I've had a himi before, a beautiful flame point named Toby. He had the most beautiful blue eyes and like a siamese, he was a real yapper. They have the most beautiful coats.
I hope you find great homes for them.

I think they're all relatively young, maybe 1-3. I'll have more information on Monday.

Thanks, Badger. Do you know why these cats are available at this time? Was this a kitten farm situation?

Hey, Rottielover, I put my location as Montreal because it's the general area, but I'm a DDO person too.

Rottweilers are wonderful dogs.

Sorry, she has Somalis and Abyssinians (not Himies). Aged 2-4. All healthy and fixed (the woman who is keeping them is a vet tech). More info later.

Oh wow, that's a great price for a wonderful cat like both of those breeds are - not that price has ever been an issue for me. It should be a case of matching a cat with a person, regardless f cost and if the person cannot afford the kitty, they will not likely be able to afford other necessities like vet care, et al!

Any pix Badger? How many kitties are you referring to? I have 4 already.... sighhhhhhhhhh

Are you ever right on that one! Last month, one of my cats got sick, kidney failure. He was hospitalized for 4 days for tests, rehydration, and shots to give him appetite. I learnt how to to the rehydration myself at home, and to give him a pill to give him appetite. He still wouldn't eat. A few days later, We went back to the vet, and he had more tests. His numbers were getting worse. They tried sticking food in his mouth but he acted as though he were facing his worst enemies. They suggested hospitalizing him again and forcefeeding him. I refused, I didn't want to put him through so much anguish.

I held him as they put him to sleep. That's really what it felt like, just a slow drift off. I'm crying as I write this. He died August 30th, and it still hurts like the devil.

Getting back to your statement, Cyberkitten, I couldn't agree with you more. People who say they can't put out 150 dollars for a fixed young cat can't afford to have a cat-- or don't care enough about the animal to spend what needs to be spent on them: good quality food, shots, other vet care.

I have 2 other cats, btw. People tell me to lavish more attention on them. I've been doing that, but I still miss him terribly and I don't think he's replaceable.

Sorry for the thread drift. I've been trying to psyche myself up to take on one of the somali cats because I've always wanted one, but I don't feel up to it yet.

Bit of a mess really, the male went back to live with the original owner and the foster mum has decided to keep the two females, which she has become quite attached to, AND now plans to breed! My nose did twitch earlier when she told me that they had not yet been spayed.
I didn't see that one coming, at all. Sorry if anyone got their hopes up.
