ya, I have a feeling the stress of living with my dog is the reason that his FIV is acting up... but, there are no other alternatives.

You are an angel! and anything is better than a garage!! He may not like the dog...but cats are pretty tough and I suspect Martin is..so I think things will settle down...

He is so handsome ...and so lucky, catsnatcher! You're an .

that the dog finally decides he's not as interesting as he seems right now.

Thanks so much for giving Martin a forever home.

Well, things are not better between my dog and Martin. My dog just wants to smell him but Martin is terrified and hisses and scratches and hides from him.

It's unfortunate. I was hoping to give him the chance of having a stress free life but it doesn't look like that will happen.

He has an eye infection that comes and goes. But his health is better overall.

I also catch him playing with my other cat. And he does sleeps on a plush king size bed nestled between two humans.

......AND he gets food AND he's not freezing outside AND he gets some human loving !!! So other than the encounters with your dog , I'd say he's in heaven because of you !!!

Does your other cat get along with your dog? If so, then maybe after Martin sees them interacting he will come around.

Catsnatcher, like Frenchy says,in spite of your pup,Martin must think he's in heaven
If your dog is not aggressive towards him in any way,Martin will realize he is no threat,
This summer,my cats accidentally got out while Bailey(Cocker) was here and Rocky attacked her,the other 2 ran in to hiding,I don't think I could ever introduce a dog to them..
But as long as Martin is only showing his displeasure with hissing,I am sure he will eventually be ok with the dog.
Your poor dog must wonder what he did wrong
Still,I am soooooo happy for Martin

Martin is looking like he is in heaven . When we adopted Desi she was absolutely terrified of Lucy and would hardly move off the back of our couch where she laid as flat as possible. We really thought that we would need to take her back but they worked things out after a few months. I just kept placing Desi across the room from Lucy and that forced her to walk slowly (would take her about 10 min cause she was trying to be invisible) to her safe perch. Eventually she figured out that Lucy wasn't gonna hurt her. She is still much more cautious with the dogs then Fred is but now even if they chase her she doesn't really stress.

My dog gets along with the other cats. But he plays rough with them. They love it because they trust him. He chases them, pins them down, licks them from top to bottom.

My dog just wants to play with Martin but he's gotten swiped twice so far.

Poor Lucky Martin

It sounds like some dog scared the out of him when he was on the streets and even though he sees the dog and cats playing he's still weary. He may come around, or not. But at least he's not jumping the dog all 120 claws at the ready!

I was away from the forum for too long, but I read the entire thread and kept my fingers crossed till the end! Who needs soap operas when we have pets.ca!?

You're an for keeping him!
