Yet another: What breed is my dog? thread
A little while ago I placed a eulogy for Rosie the English Golden Retriever in the Rainbow Bridge column.
Now I have acquired a new dog from the "Tails of Greece" shelter in Toronto. He is described as an Australian Shepherd in his records but to me looks more like a Border Collie with a bit of hound thrown in. Everyone I meet says he is a BC but the shelter insists he has more "Down Under" in him than Scotland. He certainly acts like a BC with highly wired activity level, focus and need for work. Also his evident high intelligence level. I'd love to read your comments. His name is Astro and he is seven years old. |

Astro sure is a handsome lad
![]() He looks like he could have Border Collie and/or Australian Shepard IMO. Those two breeds have similar head, muzzle and ears which is why I really can't choose. Perhaps it's his coat colouring that has the rescue leaning more towards the AS? If you're really curious you could have a DNA test done. |

I can see Australian Shepherd in Astro...not sure what it's with, but it sure resulted in a cutie-pie!

I can see Aussie Shepherd, or Border Collie, or maybe even a bit of Aussie Cattle Dog...He's a beaut, that's for sure!
