Well I've made my dog food decision

So I went to my local pet store again and found that they didn't have the Summit in a puppy or all life stages formula. So I decided to just spend a little more money and bought the Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken. It seemed to be a lot healthier and I worked out the costs. The 15 pound bag costs thirty dollars canadian but since he needs less than 3 cups a day the bag should last me approximately 20+days (the exact math said 24 days) so its about 1.50 a day for him which I feel is money well spent. Hey it's only money and he's my best friend. here's the info, lemme know if its as good as the shopkeeper told me

This is a great food! Depending on the cost of the bag of the bag of Summit, Summit may be more "cost effective", not neccesarily better. The calories per cup of Summit are 460, what you have there is 410, meaning you will feed more food.
It also uses "lamb" as the first ingredient which included the water from the meat, this would actually put the amount of actual lamb farther down the list.
This food is a step up from Summit, probably more equivalent to the Petcureans Foundations, still a great choice.
You might want to find out what the Omega 3 to 6 ratio is, as I don't see it listed here. SHould be around 1 part 3 to 5-10 parts six

that's exactly what i feed my dog. I pay about $24 (USD) for the 15lb bag. I mix in a tablespoon or 2 of the Merrick canned food also.

I've been very happy with this food.

The price of the higher grade of the petcurean (go natural or even Summit Advanced) is quite similar to the solid gold. The first ingredient is lamb and i kow its full of water but second is lamb meal. I live right close to the border so im goin to be getting my dog food from the states meaning its only goin to be about 25 percent more than the iams or Summit.

It's pretty good, but if the coat gets greasy and/or dandruffy, suspect the food. A couple of dogs I know were on it and their coats were just icky... But then again, it might not have been the food's fault.

I talked to my girlfriends aunt who runs a kennel/boarding service and also breeds champion sheep dogs, she was the one who told me to go with soid gold

Thats fine. Prins just giving you the heads up. Nothing agaisnt your girlfriends Aunt, but every dog is different. And for some dogs, certain kibbles don't do well. Alll you can do is try it, give it a month or two, and if its not working, try something else.

yup...everydog is different, one of my girlfriends tried Solid Gold Barking at the Moon and it gave her dog really dull fur and made him shed, but Buster's coat os UNBELIEVABLE on it (she actually tried it because she couldn'T believe how amazing Buster looked )

Yep, exactly. Every dog is different, and there's no reason you shouldn't give it a try. Even within a brand, dogs can do well on one formula and not on another.

Be sure to switch super gradually to it though.
