Cider ~RMB update~

She did it she did it she did it *happy dance*

She has decided she is starving herself for the last day and a half.. Decided since I was cooking I could watch her.. So I threw her riblette back in the pan for like 10 seconds per side and put it on a towel. No whining, no crying. She licked and then I heard bone crunching I'm like omg you are doing it!! She ate the entire thing.. no trace of it left.. Never given her a bone she could eat before. WOW. Decided to lay down, went so much better..

You know you need pics

what a good girl!!

after a few days, check her teeth again and tell us what you see! that's some PRO chewing action she's got going on there, whoohooo! who knows, she might develop a hankering for her "edible toothbrush" after a while!

you must be so thrilled... i know i am, for you!

LOL, Techno I was bouncing in the kitchen.. Soon as I heard a crunch I knew that she was actually going to keep at it this time. We have another riblette in the freezer I might defrost in a few days and see if after a quick sear she'd like to try again with a 'fresher' one. Even if her teeth aren't clean yet, We can now work on it. WOOOT!

I find myself watching my pup eat and that crunching sound is so nice.

Congrats again

MafiaPrincess,

I am glad you had good luck with feeding raw bones to your dog. I went to a local butcher & purchased some fresh venison femur bones (shin w/knucle). I came home and cleaned them really well and cut as much meat and fat off as I could (because these were strictly for chewing, not feeding purposes). But, my youngest threw up a whole pile of undigested bits of the bone and her dog food from that morning an hour or two afterwards. For some reason, the raw bone and stuff that was on it did not agree with her stomach  I don't know what to give her because she is allergic to beef, and she gets little red dots on her ears when she chews beef bones, even ones that are plain and have no meat on them at all. Her back molars look great though

LOL, she's had practice now.. Gotten 2 more since that photo, and her teeth are slowly improving. Now she gets one eaten in about 4 minutes.. that first one took 10. All I can say is wow. Never seen anything like it eating bone and all so quickly.

She thinks she spoiled now though. Holding off on kibble for hopes of more slightly seared meat (turns out the more uh aged it is the happier she is).
