Introducing my clan
Hi everyone, I'm new and just wanted to say hey and introduce my family. I have 3 bc's all related, the mom Tasha and her 2 boys, Wicket and Bear. I also have 1 Jack, Louise, a cat Bobbi and my big warmblood horse Gonzo.Oh and of course I quess I should add my hubby Doug This may be a little long but just wanted to let you know about my special guy Wicket
Wicket has a neurological disorder involving the muscles in his throat. The University of Florida diagnosed him at 12 weeks of age after my exhausted search for hope. He had terriable pnemonia with abcesses on his lungs and I had kept him alive by tube feeding him from birth. No local vets could figure out why he asperated fluids. Still with diagnosis the University gave him no hope on living, he was so sick and nothing could fix him. Anyways long story short he is now 2 1/2 years old pnemonia free and my little miracle pup With the help of anibiotics, ice cubes as his source of water and his own amazing spirit he lives and loves life to the fullest, he has taught me more than I ever thought one creature could. Anyways glad to find this forum to talk to other animal lovers and now you will hopefully understand me talking about Wicket alot and my extemely close bond with him,he's my baby |

I would love to add pics but it shows up on my posting rules that I'm not allowed to post attachments. I don't understand that, I assumed you must be a member for a length of time before you were allowed to post pics. I read your post and see nothing about managing attachments.

Welcome to pets.ca Wicket sounds like one amazing doggy and glad to hear that he survived his ordeal.
You will be able to attach pictures after you've posted a few times. I think the rules were changed recently to stop trolls from registering and posting porn pics right away. Looking forward to seeing pics of your crew. |

Thanks Rainbow. So I was right you have to be on here a little while before you can post pics. That's fine I will just keep chating away and hopefully sone I'll be able to. Yes Wicket is truelly a miracle
I don't have kids and he is a little 4 legged, black & white, furry child to me. He has no idea he's a dog, why would he I raised him completely. He thinks those dog thinks are cool to play with but by no means are they equil to him Spoiled, never |

Welcome bcsrule. Pets.ca is a great place to come and brag about your babies. We all do it.
Wicket sounds like an amazing fighter. So nice to hear stories like that. And I have one of those "thinks he is human too" but in my case he's a she. A 13 yr old toy poodle. No way can you convince her she isn't. I think once you have been here for a while and post more that the "manage attachments" shows up automatically. I joined right before that new rule came into affect but from what I glean from other posters it sounds like no one has it until they can post. Again......welcome and enjoy!! |

14 plus kitties,Wow you have your hands full. I thought 4 dogs,1 cat,1 fish and 1 horse was getting to be a little too much. Forgive me how silly of me one can never have enough furry friends, human ha ha or animal. Is there a name for the disorder our pups have, you know the whole human complex thing

I think it's just we have spoiled them so much. Yours because he has been so ill and such a trooper and mine because she weighs 5 lbs and is easy to pick up. And she has also suffered from epilepsy since she has been one year old so she's a fighter too. And the being silly for thinking I have too many pets......it's all good. They are a happy, healthy bunch of kitties and are very happy together. I will point you in the direction of their first thread if you would like. |

She seizes anywhere from a month to 3 months apart and that's it. It's not a constant weekly thing. When she was younger she would have them more frequently. She has never been put on meds because of the infrequency of the seizures. Over time I have learned what tends to set her off and try to avoid the situations. Like, if she gets too much red meat (she's a begger when we are eating), or if she gets too stressed. That's one of the reasons the kitties aren't in the house with us. She is so jealous. Mommy's attention isn't supposed to be on anyone but her. Even the labx is in the kitchen with a baby gate between her and us. So bad. But she IS the queen. |

I'm glad to here it is under control. As far as the don't feel sorry, I always will for any animal with issues. This is just my nature. But I'm glad she has a mom like you to take care of her.

Yep, got snoopy and went looking. You said you had BC dogs and I wasn't sure if it was Border Collies or Bearded Collies so I thought I would look in your info. Maybe you have to do around 20 or 25 posts then. I will be patient. |

I quess the pictures could be bigger after all but I'm confused. My computer says the files are much bigger than what they show up as once downloaded. Goes to show you how much computer knowlede I have:sad: So the 1st one is Wicket thinking about going into herd mode, 2nd is him around 10wks old and last is him staring down his beloved ball before I kick it for him. He gets so intense when it comes to chasing his ball

Awesome, cool dogs. I love to watch them at work. I was watching PBS the other night and they had a special on dogs. They showed Border Collies at work- Very smart dogs. My brother in law has one and she loves her soccer ball.
You have some cuties there. |

absoluetly adorable.
Can you answer a few questions about the JRT? are they really hyper? Do they have housebreaking issues? are they hypo-allergenic? We're going to be officially dogless soon and we'd like to adopt something small. |
