Question raw feeding for cats...?

well, im reading a lot on the site about raw feeding, something i had never heard of before i found the site, im english.. so maybe its a cultural thing. i have been trying to find recipies and information, but im just so confused, is there a site anyone knows of where i can find clear directions and info?

i have found a few recipies that look like i can do them, but there are a few details im still confused on, like bone to meat ratio, and how much to feed at one time, and what is suitable for each of our cats, two at 7-ish months and a 5 month old.

we want out kitties to be healthy, and im looing at the foods that are available localy, and they are full of crap, and the ones i have been looking at online are just too expensive to feed 3 kitties

i hope we can make the right choices for our pets, in my eyes we chose to have them, and in taking responsibilty for 3 little lives we have to do the best for them, as we would human children.

thanks

Emma

Welcome! I woul have a look over here http://www.rawfedcats.org/ This should answer many of your questions.

I've tried to switch my three cats, and havent had much luck. If I only had two, or even one, I think I could do it. Its just so hard to get the three to eat the same thing. Plus with the dog..really, it comes down to me be lazy with the cats and not trying 110% to switch em over. With a kitten, its simple, but older cats can take a lot of time.

Their impression of power is remarkable. They give one the feeling of immense reserves of energy, of great reservoirs of knowledge, of tolerance of disposition, obstinacy of purpose, and tenacity of principle. They are responsive, and they have a lot of quiet, good sense.

Hello Emma,

Practially everything you need to know about raw-feeding for cats can be found here: http://www.holisticat.com/rawdiet.html and http://www.catnutrition.org/foodmaking.html
