RIP Rosie

Geezer here - but without Rosie my English Golden Retriever who passed away today. Some here may remember when I took Rosie in as a battered and abused breeder dog with a missing left ear and various scars around her head and face. She looked like she had been in a brawl but she had the most gentle loving nature and would never want to have anything to do with fighting so it will remain a mystery how she obtained all the scars.

She was diagnosed with mammary cancer about 5 years ago and was given 10 months to live by the Vet who removed the first cancer. Poor Rosie had a return of the cancer (5 years later) that invaded her entire abdominal cavity and was pressing on some vital organs. She was obviously in a great deal of pain and there was no hesitation on my part to end her short and rather sad life.

I hope wherever she is that she does not experience any more pain or abuse and finds happiness and peace at last!

I'm so sorry for your loss, Geezer. She was such a sweet soul.

Geezer, I am sorry to hear about your beautiful Rosie. She may have had a rough start at life, but I don't think it was sad. She will always cherish the love and caring that you no doubt lavished on her. She went to the Bridge knowing love and that is your gift to her. RIP sweet Rosie. And God bless you Geezer for loving her spirit right to the end.
