HELP - Training a new puppy
HI! I need help withthe trianing of my new puppy. I got a rescue 41/2 months old cocker spaniel dog and I all ready had a home a 4 years old cocker spaniel dog. Everything is going well so far except the crate training during the day. My older dog frees up the younger dog out of the cage! now we come home and get poop on the floor and a real mess. Please what would you do to avoid thiws kind of situation.

Secure the the crate with some type of tie or a clip. they can be really clever!

I had a similar issue when I had more than one dog. I ended up having to separate them surfing the day. I tried the clip idea and the older dog chewed it. It did work for a day though the clip idea That is. Good luck with your new addition

Thank you! This morning we are trying more clips... as it did not worked the second day.
I hope I do not see two heads at the door today. If that is the case, I think I will have to accept that the younger dog will not be crate during the day. |

That's soooo cute, older dog unleashing the younger dog
Tie wraps would work, you can pull them tight, you just have to cut with a knife everytime u opened up the crate. |

Aww! That's so sweet (other than the poop everywhere!).
I found with my puppy and older dog that separating them by a baby gate was actually the better way than crating the puppy (the puppy was super anxious in the crate and would drool everywhere). This way I also could make the puppy's area smaller with just her bed and the dogs could still see each other if they wanted to. |
