Exclamation Foods for kitten with liver shunt?

hey! So turns out my friends kitten has a liver shunt. He is still hanging on. I thought he was going to die for sure last night, but he made it! So now he is currently on K/D by Hills since it is a low protein diet, but he still had a seizure after he ate!! He is fine when he has an empty stomach.. but he cannot process food.

The ingredients of K/D are not superb, so I was hoping you guys had some ideas. Would using regular human baby food be a good idea? She is hoping to have the shunt repaired.. but we need to stableize him first.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I don't even really know where to start?

Growler posted some good links in 14+'s Benni thread.

Not sure if there is any nutrition info, but since you have a real good background you may be able to figure out a good diet.
