One of my kittens pooped in the sink?!

We have our two kittens living in their own, separate room due to one of them currently being treated for ringworm, but when we went to clean their space, we realized the bathroom sink was stopped up. After removing the piping underneath, it was pretty clear from the smell, etc. that one of the kittens had pooped in the sink! Their litter box is cleaned regularly and believe me, they use it a LOT, so what would have caused this to occur?! I still can't figure out how or why. Yuck!!!!!

Sink looks a bit like a litter box, maybe one of the kits needs their own litter box, mine are not particular, but some like to have their own. You might consider putting something over the sink, like a board, so they can't 'go' in it anymore

I'd say they need an extra litter box. I have 2 cats and they use three boxes. I scoop every night and change litter weekly. Also if you use bleach based cleaners the smell may have made them think it was ok to go in there. When Lucas needed to do a pee sample at the vet. As soon as he was let out of his crate he headed for the sink in the vets office and went there! I was so embarrassed! But at least it wasn't in a pile of clean clothes or something. Too bad it stopped up the sink though. I think there are worse things they can do. You may want to put the plug in the sink or cover it up as was stated before. Good luck with the ringworm!

A cat poop in the sink is no big deal. Wait until you have a 100 pound husky sheppard/wolf mix take a dump in your tub. Dallas used to do this when she was mad at us.
