Vinnie is just basking in all the compliments and wellwishes
I have not been able to look in his mouth if there is a problem, but his tummy looks fine.
I was hoping maybe his appetite would have lessend a bit...but noooo,he's back to his normal self.
The vet-tech said to me after the surgery,Vinnie is back to his normal"grumpy"self,it's too bad they cannot see how sweet and loving everyone of my cats are at home, but they know that.
Vinnie gets crosseyed when the thermometer goes up his butt

I just got back from the vet,got an E-Collar and some bad tasting stuff to put on his wound.
Today his wound opened so I rushed him to the vet,he got 2 new stitches and has to keep the Collar on,I have not put it on him yet,he's sleeping now.
He was not happy, even growled at me after we got home:sad:

Poor Vinnie. Hopefully the bad tasting stuff will keep him from opening the two new stitches. Silly boy!! Poor Mom for him growling at you! I bet all of this will soon be behind you both.

Vinnie! Stop worrying your mommy! Be a good boy and stop opening your stitches.

I'm guessing he's not going to be pleased with the collar.

Awww silly kitty, wish they could understand that if they leave things alone they'll heal quicker and then they wouldn't have to wear those silly collars.

that things will be all good very soon.

Oh no Vinnie, don't do that .

Chico when I had to put a cone on Snowball, it was much too long for him. DH cut it shorter so he could eat and have periferal (sp??) vision, but wasn't able to get to his wound.

Oh, Vinnie...be a good boy and stop worrying your mom so much! How did he react to the collar? Wait till he learns that Chico and Rocky will run away when they see him in it--then all of a sudden he'll realize how empowering wearing one of those cones is. Plus he'll be able to dominate everyone's food bowl--just plunk that cone down over the top and it makes an instant barrier against any other kitties trying to eat out of that bowl.

See, Vinnie? There's a silver lining to those collars!

But I still hope you heal quick so you don't have to wear it very long!

Thank's everyone,Vinnie is totally miserable, bumps in to everything, has to learn to keep his head up:sad:
L4H,I would love to make it shorter, but if we take it off him,we'll never get it back on.
Is there is softer variety I can buy, something not so restricting??
I had to put one litter-box in my PC-room,he is not able to walk up the stairs from the boxes downstairs..
I've never had a cat wearing a cone before.
You are right,Chico and Rocky think Vinnie is an ailien
One good thing, his mouth looks fine, healing nicely also,he is playing up being a"sicky"100%
I will get some pics later today, promise!!!

glad things Vinnie's fine. I hate putting the cone on my babies...When Crunchie had her''s on years ago, Misty (MIA) attacked...I think she thought that her sister was being swallowed by an alien form....

Chico, I know they make softer ones. When Oksana was spayed and I went to visit her they had one of the soft ones on her. It was sort of like a hard parachute material. Less constricting but still effective. It looked similar to this:

This might be an option too.

Thank's AG I'll look in to it.
We cut this one about an inch, without taking it off,so maybe it will be ok,I'll still go to the store and check what they have,he has to wear it for 10 days, but we'll see how the wound looks.

Here is my pitiful little guy:sad:

Aww, poor guy. He does look like he's hating that collar. I could never get one on Vlad after he had his neuter. Actually I got it on him for about 5 seconds and he went absolutely nuts! They didn't have any soft ones that fit him so I had to put one like Vinnie has on.

Hopefully you can find a better option for him. Especially if he has to wear it for 10 days.

Another day or so and Vinnie won't mind it at all. Just be very happy that Vinnie isn't tall enough to run into you from behind and gore your calf with the cone! Owie!!! That hurts! When we have a dog in a cone, our legs are bruised till the dog finally recovers!

Aww, poor Vinnie but he actually doesn't look too upset wearing it. I know I could never get one on either of my two.

Glad to hear his mouth is healing nicelt ...hopefully his wound will as well and he won't have to wear his helmet for the entire 10 days.

Well,he is really guilt-tripping me,follows me everywhere,purrs the minute I touch him.
I think after the weekend the wound will have healed enough so the collar can come off,I got this really stinky Derma-Gel,that will keep him from licking,we'll see.

Sounds like Vinnie is handling the cone much better than my Mischief ( ) did the time she needed one. She would either sit on the floor with her head slowly tilting back & stare at the ceiling or she would walk with her nose pointed at the floor bumping into chairs & couldn't quite figure out which way to move to avoid doing it again - the one I have is white not clear. Cally ( ) was just as stressed about Mischief wearing it as she was, he didn't like it on her one bit (he hated wearing it to).

Growler
Vinnie is handling it really good and Rocky was licking his face yesterday, seeing Vinnie can't groom himself.
Vinnie walks around with a swaying gait does not bang in to things too much anymore, but he also takes advantage, banging the collar against my bed to wake me up waaaay too early
The only thing I am concerned about,he sleeps too much, not taking meds anymore so that's not the problem.
Eats well, since we cut the collar all around about an inch, while he was wearing it.
