Exclamation Found Cat

Found - black and white cat on Dowling Ave. in "Parkdale" (Toronto, Ontario) on or about summer of 2000. Well groomed, LOVES people, has very specific markings, fairly large, approximately 5-9 years old now. He catches, sits, speaks now, so VERY trainable. Needs his old owners back!

Have you put up some fliers?I would put them up every where.

Maybe what you can do is take him to the Parkdale animal clinic and see if they can scan for a microchip. They are on Queen just past Jameson. You can even put up a flier in there.

I hope you find his owners.

So you've had this cat for (4) YEARS and now decide that you need to find it's owners?? WTH??

Why don't you want the cat any longer...what did you do in 2000 to find the owner.

This is probably one of the most ridiculous posts I have ever read on here!

Keep all your replies on the same page about the same thing...it gets confusing when you start new threads..
I believe u meant to post this here:

Quote:
Firstly, he has been to the clinic and has no microchip. Secondly, I put up posters, but had no response. Lastly, I have a boyfriend who went into anaphylactic shock from an allergy to him. Does someone who trains, cares for and loves a found cat for years need obedience training. The people on this forum are quite ignorant. I thought I would search out his old family first once I found out you could do this (which was last week).

(4) years after you have the cat it's time to get rid of him.
YOU are this cats companion now..why oh why do you want to get rid of this baby after being with u for (4) years, because of a b/f? Has your b/f been with you for (4) years???

Boyfriends come and go...but your cat will always be there to love and greet you.. Maybe your b/f can get allergy shots, if he cares enough to that is!!!!

So what happens you get rid of the cat then b/f dumps you.....?

WE are ignorant????????

WE are not the ones who took in a lost cat, loved it and took care of it for 4 years only to get rid of it by trying to find the real owners.Do you honestly think you can find them after 4 years? If you couldn't find them before, what makes you think you can find them now?How do you know that the owners didn't just dump the cat in that area?

A boyfriend would get dumped before a cat,for sure, anyone with me would have to pass the"animal-sniff-test",because animals will always and has always been a big part of my life...you don't like my cats, you don't need to visit!!
Get rid of a cat after 4 yrs for a b/f,come on

Wink thanks

Thanks for the info. to whomever explained that to me. Now I can read messages.

As for the boyfriend's allergies, you don't even know me and seem quite angry that I found and cared for a cat, but can no longer do so. And obviously you don't know what anaphylactic shock is. Look it up.

Angry my cat

I actually kept the cat for a year while my boyfriend was unable to visit my home after his first attack. I noticed that the cat was alone too often and thought it a little more reasonable to find him a great home rather than leave him alone 5 days a week our of some "responsibility" to him.

He arrived very well cared for and older, so I assumed that he was a family friend and that they would search for him. My sister (a Humane Society employee in another province) indicated she would search indefinitely if her older cat was lost.

Stranger things have happened than finding a lost cat 4 years later. I don't think there was anything wrong with trying. I'd rather just recieve replies from people being helpful or looking for their cat, rather than people who are judgmental with too much time on their hands.

Kate28,we sometimes jump to conclusions, and yes, warning signals go up if someone is looking for a new owner for his/her cat and the cats more than likely end up at a shelter to eventually be put down, hence the somewhat hostile reaction..
Chances you'll find the original owner are slim, but sure,it's worth a try...to the cat it would be like going into a strange place, after 4 yrs you're his owner and the one he trusts and loves
I understand today, there is no reason for giving up a cat for allergies, there are plenty of excellent medications, but that is all up to your b/f,usually people who are allergic to cats also hate them,so maybe that is more of the problem, you don't say...
Well, whatever you decide, you and your b/f will be ok...it's the poor little cat that will have to suffer,as usually is the case, there is nothing short of me dying that would make me put any of my cats in a shelter or with strangers, but we all have different feelings towards our animals.
Anyway,Good luck to you and your kitty
