Help German Boxer

Hi, I recently got a rescue dog. He appears to be german boxer about 1 1/2 years old male neutered. He had pii worms, a cough and a snorting behavior that sounded like a mucous plug was hung up in his nasal passage.

He had this really bad cough. On x-ray there was no conclusive evidence of pneumonia or what the vet stated were signs of bronchitis. But his cough was awful. He was placed on anti biotics Dronoit tabs 1 by mouth two times a day for a total of 20 days. this was an extended doseage due to his continuing to "snort and occasionally cough.

He just finished the last course of medication on Sunday morning. About two hours later he had a snorting bout that consisted of about 10 - 15 snorts. He sounded like he was trying to clear his nasal passage.

He repeated this again on Monday one time that i am aware of. Last night he had diarrhea and actually urinated on his bedding. He appears comfortable today. He had a normal stool - outside this morning.

I cannot afford to keep running to the vet. I am a retired nurse with a background in cardiology. Not much help when trying to figure out what is wrong with the "Admiral". Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
CW
