i second that
i think if you must insist on breeding your dog, one unfortunate litter is enough. |

YAY!! baby fever!!!
i want you to think about something for me.... think about 12 million (thats 12,000,000 dogs) dont have homes... and are euthanized yearly. even if your puppies happen to really be the cutest puppies on the face of the planet.... which im sure they are.... they are taking up homes that could have been a shelter dog who will instead be euthanized. -ashley

OMG, get every one of your pets spayed. Are you a certified breeder - if you were something tells me you would not be asking these questions. There are I forget the stats now but I think it is 30 dogs and 45 cats born for every human in North America- no one should be breeding unless they maybe allow their one show quality registered animal to have a litter maybe once a yr (once in their lifetime is prob best) but that animal has to be a champion and their litter has to be one that may help the species. I actually have come to think for each breed, there should only be so many permitted breeders - ensure the survival of the species while ensuring no puppy mills or back yard breeders.
So my advice- unless your dog is a Grand Champion - please breed her asap!!! I have 4 show quality cats- they are all spayed!! Even the ones who are champions. None have ever given birth - I do not want to be part of the massive problem we now have! The one that leads to the death of too many cats and dogs now, sigh!

Lucy
Unless Lucy is a champion show dog PLEASE just get her spayed before she comes into heat. Also get the male neutered. Why would you breed her otherwise? In NC in a small shelter 25 mixed breed pups were euthanized on December 13th because of ignorant breeding and over crowded conditions. They all had to die because an idiot dog owner refused to spay and neuter his dogs. He thought he could give away the pups but as it turned out no one wanted them. Most people think it would be easy to re home a pup but it's not. There are thousands upon thousands of unwanted pups in the US alone. Spay and Neuter is the only responsible answer.

The three Yorkies I had/have were abused and given to me. I've always had mutts so this was a little bit different experience. But,NONE of them were neutered, Mitzie was and Boo and Bonnie are. Yorkies might find a home but maybe not.
It's always best to have them neutered. Boo was the worst case,I think. He was supposed to be a small, doll faced yorkie.he's a large doll faced Yorkie built like a bulldog. The breeder didn't even try to find a home for him. She kept him seperated from the other dogs and let her son play with him at his demands. When he wasn't a puppy anymore and her son tired of him, she was going to put him down. I got him because my Mother begged for him. Like everyone knows,he's so incredibly sweet and loving. What a waste to have just euthanized him at home. But,millions of wonderful dogs are put to sleep year. So do future puppies a real favor and prevent them from being born into terrible conditions. Have both your dogs spayed.

Do everyone a big favor and get both dogs fixed. I can't think of one GOOD reason for this dog to have another litter. Maybe a trip to the local shelter and seeing all the beautiful, young, healthy homeless dogs that spend days/weeks/months waiting behind bars for a home will put it all in perspective.
