First of all, I'd like to say that I am sorry to hear your loss.

Everyone is different, but I found that getting a new pet soon after the passing of another *really* helped with the healing process. I never thought of adopting a new pet as replacing the one who had to go to the Rainbow Bridge, but rather, the beginning of a new journey were another had ended.

Hope this helps!

I am so sorry for your loss! I can't even imagine your pain right now, but you have to know that your bunny loved you very VERY much. She is looking down on you and she wouldn't want you to hurt anymore...don't feel like you let her down, you didn't. You gave her life! You took care of her emotionally, physically, and spiritually, and did everything you could for her right to the end. She is smiling down on you, comforting you as she knows how sad you are, when you should be happy about the memories you have.

She will never EVER be replaced in your heart, but a new bunny might help ease the pain you are feeling. Someone to take care of and guide, as you did Sha sha....She will never be replaced, she will always be your baby.....

I find cremation the more comforting route. If you bury her, chances are it'll be at a pet cemetary that you have to drive to to see. I know people that have lost pets and cremated. They buy a beautiful urn for the ashes, and do a tribute to their loved pet in their home. That way they are always there and with you. Burying can be harsh on a body with all the elements of being outside....the choice is completely yours though so whatever you feel more comfortable with....

My cats who passed are all buried in my backyard, wrapped in something familiar to them.I placed little flat stones on the site, with their names...and I still talk to them. They loved being out in the backyard and that is where I was most comfortable laying them to rest, they are still where they loved to be.

I just wanted to add,by accepting another bunny, you would not replace yours who passed, but you would give another bunny a wonderful life in honor of Shasha....just do not expect him to be like him/her.
