Made Matching Collars for PB&J! :)
Sorry, I promise I won't keep posting every time I make one, but I just can't resist. I'm proud of myself, LOL! If you knew me, you'd know that I am NOT creative or a sewer or anything of the sort. So this is a fun new first for me.
I had made that blue plaid one for Petey on Monday, so today I made blue flowered ones for the girls to match! I didn't use the same plaid ribbon as I wanted something a little more girly and they didn't have a matching pink plaid unfortunately. Not a huge fan of this ribbon, but it was the best I could find at JoAnn's to match the blue plaid. They turned out pretty good though I think! After JoAnn's, I found tons of great ribbon at Michael's, so got some more exciting and funky patterns to use as well.

I love that pattern!! It's very elegant and I love the color. The girls look beautiful in them You did a great stitching job on them, too!
I also love the look Jelly is giving Petey in that third pic!

Great Job!!
I am planning on making a few for keely and kacee. So i have a question, and i might be a dumb one. But what kind of ribbon do you use? Is it like a roll of ribbon or something? Like the below picture. Or is it a more cmplicated type of ribbon that somebody like myself has never come in contact with, as i have never set foot inside of a fabric store BTW- Tell me if you would like me to remove the picture, as i feel like i am Thread jacking sorry.. Oh and, As kacee has a super sensitive neck, do you put the ribbon on both sides of the nylon?

OMG! I love the last picture of the 3 of them. They have all bonded so well and easily. So cute.
Love the collars and don't ever apologize for posting pictures of them. We want to see each and ever one of them modeled on the doggies.

Oh, that ribbon would make a fabulous collar!
Here are my supplies so far. I ordered a nice little stockpile of various sizes and colors of collar hardware (buckle, slider, D-Ring) and nylon webbing. I got them from this site. I should be all set for a while, LOL! And then I just bought regular ribbon on rolls, from 5/8, 7/8, and 1 inch sizes. These are the ones I got so far. Closer up--you can see the two blues I used to make these collars. And then these are the ones I'm going to make next for their Easter collars! The girls in the pink and yellow plaid and Petey in yellow. I then also got several colors of extra strength thread. I found that if the thread matches the ribbon, the crooked stitches aren't as noticeable. Once I get better at this, it will be fun to use contrasting thread as well. As you can see, I have tons of the blue plaid and blue flowered ribbon I used on these collars left over. That's the downside of buying the ribbon on a roll. You can buy some ribbons by the yard too and that might be cheaper. Although, I got these ribbons on sale for .99 cents each, so a great price!

Oh sorry, for the back, I just have it the nylon. You could sew ribbon on both sides if you wanted to though I suppose! Depending on how big you make the adjustable portion, some of the ribbon does overlap onto the back. I tried to get pics of it for you. Ignore how ugly the back of my collar is, LOL!

Oh thank you for the informative posts!
You are doing a great job! Absolutely stunning ribbons you have! I am a fan of the girlie colors They really do look amazing. I keep coming back to look at them I hope you dont mind me asking so many question I just hope since kacee is a strictly outdoor dog that is chained up all the time, that the ones i make her are strong enough to hold her I will have to test them on a walk a few times before leavin gher unatended with one on I guess. Oh,just thought of something. What a lovely contribution some homemade collars would be to the spca!

Hmm, that's a good question about Kacee! A ribbon collar probably wouldn't last very long outside 24/7. I keep my collars on my guys at all times, but they are indoors most of the time of course. I have a doggie door and the go in and out all day long so our collars get dirty and wet and faded in the sun still, LOL. They are washable by hand, but definitely not as durable because of the ribbon. When I was at JoAnn Fabrics, they did have some nylon webbing with colored stripes on them. Maybe you could find a nice nylon and leave the ribbon off for Kacee? Oh, thanks for answering Allymack's question by the way!!! I was going to see if you needed the directions, but you're on top of it! Cool!
