Cats has itchy brown ears, no mites found
Hello everyone,
My 14 years old red cat, Monsieur O, has brown stuff in his hears since 6 months, and it's not mites. It's itching him a lot, and he is also licking his belly to the skin. 3 visits at 2 different vets, and they found no mites, and just a really slight ear infection in one ear. What we tried: - cortisone: as drops in his lightly infected ear, - cortisone: as pills for 2 weeks but both treatment just seemed to make it more bearable for him for some days, but the itching is back. - we also changed his food to non allergic food for 2 months, and the itching did not stop. He also started to be lightly constipated these last 2 months, maybe it's related. Could a cat develop itchy ears as a stress response? there is a lot of stress in our house since 8 months. Otherwise, he is eating well, has a good mood, and has put some weight on lately, no fever. if any of you has advices on what we could try next, natural medecines or else, please let me know! m-c |

What was Monsieur O eating before (brand, flavour, wet or dry?), and what was the hypoallergenic food he was switched too?

Hello Sugarcatmom,
He was eating royal canin senior consult 2 since some years (in europe) and since june senior consult. Dry food. We switched to 'Hills prescription diet d/d felinie skin support, duck and green pea formula, dry food' for a month in september, and it did not solve the problem. m-c |
