Calla Needs Care
Our sweet Calla (who was literally thrown from a car in Rigaud) came to us with a bad flea infestation and terrible skin rashes as a result. We have spent the past 3 weeks treating her numerous infected skin patches, and once we got the OK from the vet, we had her sterilized today. The vet has since found new patches that look different from the previous ones (could be either ringworm or another type of parasite or food allergy) and has given us more medication to give her. Problem is that whatever she may have could be transmitted to other cats at our shelter. We must find someone to take Calla for 2 weeks to treat her skin condition and get her away from the other cats (she doesn't like other cats, and this adds to her stress of being at our shelter). The vet hopes that maybe a foster home (with no other cats) where Calla can be treated in a more comfortable environment will help regulate her system. I know it's a lot to ask, but if anyone can help out this beautiful and very affectionate Calico, please call us at 514-453-7110 or e-mail: info@sosmiow.com.
