LOST KITTEN - Burlington ON

Grey and black tabby with a brown belly. Only one year old. Answers to “Mika.” She's extremely timid so she may be hiding somewhere. She's wearing a black collar with diamonds and a bell but no I.D. She's not declawed. This is her first time outside since she is not an outdoor cat. She's greatly missed and too young to be on her own! She's been missing since August 4th in the Orchard area near Pathfinder and Sutton. If you have any information on her, please call no matter what time. Kelsey 905-464-6106.

Your kitty is probably not far, cats who have not been accustomed to going outside are generally very timid, find a hiding spot and will not come out even when the owners are calling them if they are scared.

Have you tried looking at 3-5AM? This is generally the time they will come out of hiding. Perhaps taking a flashlight to peer in hiding spots to look for the reflection of eyes. She may only be a couple of doors down hiding under a deck or in a shed.

Are you able to leave some of her used kitty litter outside so she can smell her scent?

Good luck and please keep us updated.

What a little sweet tabby-girl,I you find her..
What I did when a cat I had seen on a missing-poster stuck around my house.
The owner of the cat, brought a small crate, put some T-Shirts of his in there, together with some food and it worked I found the cat sleeping in the crate and called the owner.
for your little one

Thanks guys for the advice and concern! I have cat litter and food out and I'm going back out to search tonight and putting posters up in the morning. It's probable someone took her in since she is so young so I'm going door to door as well. I hope she is found soon.

Have you tried with a live trap yet? It's possible kitty is coming out of hiding sometime in the middle of the night when no one is around and wanting in the house. If no one hears her she would go back into hiding. Try setting a trap up close to the door she left from and bait it with tuna. Hopefully you will get a good result from it and not trap some of the neighbours' kitties.
Have you asked your neighbours to check in their garden sheds, under their decks, anyplace a small kitty can hide in, under?

We set up a trap only to catch the neighbours cat... I've handed out over 300 flyers and no one has called.

Have you tried calling and going into (check out stray rooms) Burlington animal services and the Burlington Humane Society (is not an afficalte or branch of the OSPCA)

I would give them both a call for one and fill out a lost report with them. Also, bring in a picture of your cat, so they can attach it to the file. Hope you find your kitty.

I would also contact the Oakville and Milton Humane Society. Someone could have brought Mika in there as well...and just said that they were found in Oakville. Some people do not like City run shelters and BHS could have been filled.

Just so you know i forwarded post to them. I would still call them though. keeping fingers crossed.

I'm sorry you've not found Mika yet, but you still never know. Kitties have been known to show up a very long time later. I know it's hard to hold out hope and to carry around that hope and hurt, but don't give up on Mika.

Keep the trap set. You never know. What happens if she is coming around in the middle of the night and no one is around? It may be your one chance to get her back.
Are you still going to the shelter every day to check to see if she is there? Every day? No phoning. You have to go. Ask to see the feral and sick rooms as well.
There is still hope.

I've already had to move away for school so I'm relying on my mom to hopefully find her since there's not much I can do from this distance.
