11 year-old girl starts rabies shots as dog still not found

An 11-year-old girl, bitten by a dog this week has started taking rabies shots as a preventive measure. The girl was riding her bike with her father and brother near near the Sobey's plaza on Fisher Hallman Monday night when a leashed dog nipped her leg. The dog, possibly a poodle cross, has not been found.
The girl's father, Paul Calamai, has been canvassing the area since Monday looking for the dog and its owner. If the dog is found to be free of rabies, his daughter could stop receiving the painful injections.
