can dogs get Hepatitis C from humans?
I am so worried
Yesterday an old friend came to visit. Her son, an adorable 13 year old, contracted hepatitis C during an operation. Well, yesterday he was outside playing with our dog ... when I went out, he was sitting at the picnic table and our pooch was just sitting licking his hand. He smiled and said ... she is a good nurse. Seems he had cut himself and she was licking away the wound. Can my beloved pooch contract the hepatitis????? I have googled for an hour and can find nothing on this.

As far as is known, this disease is not transferred from human to animal.

Monkeys can harbour Hepatitis B nut not A or C and there has never been a case in any database reported of infection of any kind of hepatitis from a dog to human.

I doubt it but I'd call the vet and ask just in case, you wouldn't want your dog passing it on to other people!
