I suggest you take it to the vets and have the dog checked for a microchip. Also, check your local paper and look in the lost section to see if anyone has posted a lost dog that fits this discription.Or any other newspapers in your surrounding area.
Can you take a pic and post it on here?

I agree with Mona - first have pup checked to see if chipped. But as pup was not wearing any ID I fear he may have been dumped. Since you live in a small town I would expect that if a mini Eskie got loose by accident it would be a lot easier to find his owner than if say the dog were a breed more common in Ontario. As an Eskie owner I am too well aware of the number of Eskies that are just dumped on the road. Even though I live in Toronto, I do not see that many Eskies - and should my pup go missing in our area - he does wear ID and is always on leash and will be chipped next week - but even without ID - he is "famous" in his own way - especially at the pet stores and would be recognized. I sincerely hope someone is looking for him.

thanx mona and snowdancer! but the little guy has no id or chips! i to was a eskis owner for 17yrs but had to put her down in 1998. my first thought when we found him was that he was dumped, and i'm not surprised because there is so much animal abuse going on lately. we would love to keep the little guy but i'm the one with the missing white siberian (teeka) plus i have 3 more, 1 female and 2 males. my one male (demon) is really good with the little guy when by themselves but when they were all together we had fur flying and i had a hard time seperating them at 6:30 this morning. its a good thing i have 2 kennels so i can seperate them while he is here. if i can't find him a home i will have 2 bring him to the humane society and i really don't want to do that.
any suggestions for what i can do if i don't find him a home or on how to find him a home???? any help would be appreciated thanx |

American Eskimo Rescue
I searched on Petfinder and found these people. They may be able to help you. I know nothing of their reputation though, sorry.

thanx bmdluver! but i'm happy to say i contacted tlc this morning and they just called me back to let me know they have room for the little guy. so tomorrow i will be bringing the little guy to bracks animal hospital and they will examine him and groom his and bring him to tlc. by the way tlc takes in strays animals and fosters them out until they can find a permanent home.
thanx again everyone and i also got a lead on my missing siberian husky so my daughter and i are leaving now to check it out. keep your fingers crossed for me!!!! |

answer to what is TLC
TLC means tender loving care and down her in the windsor, ontario region
(LaSalle, ont.) the TLC organization takes in unwanted or stray animals so they don't end up at the pound and maybe put down. they take in the animals and foster them out to loving homes until they can find them a new home. it kind of works the same way as the CAS (childrens aid society) which takes in abused children and fosters them out until they can either find them a good permanent home. TLC has a list of people who are willing to take in animals temperaily and care for them until they can find a new home. i'm on that list but can only take in huskies or larger dogs that can relate to my team of dogs. i still can't believe how nasty and mean my dogs are being to this little guy. |

I'm so glad that you found a place that will take in this little guy...
I have whatever I can cross on my body that you find Teeka. Have you checked the lost ads in your paper?Have you put up fliers with her pic all over like shopping malls, vet clinics and where ever else you can?

thanx mona! i hope i find teeks soon. i check the newspaper everyday plus i ran an ad with a pic of teeks since the day she went missing. i just stopped the ad yesterday because it was costing alot. but i still have missing posters up everywhere, infact thats how i came accross this little guy. people who don't get the paper were calling all these places they had seen the posters to get my phone number and nobody else could keep this little guy and they figured i am a big animal lover and would find him a good home.
i did however get a call 2 nights ago by a couple of people who were out horse back riding and seen my teeks. they tried to get her but she ran off so they went and got some food and went back but they could not find her. they called me and my daughter and i have been looking. it seems she is still on the run and camping out in the bushes. tonight we are going to take teeka's brother casper with us and park the car somewhere and head out into the bush. i hope we can track her using casper. keep everything crossed thanx again |
