I got my jindo

Wow this jindo is soooooooooo cute..i got him today ..he is mixed with chow (whats a chow LOL)...and he is small but really really really SMART..to tell u guys,, what ppl say about jindos being smart is ABSOLUTELY TRUE. He was all happy when we were at the breeders house, but when it was time to get in the car, it whimpered and didnt like it! But he got into his breeders car fine!!

Now we have him in our backyard now letting him settle in. He seems to be not adjusting. We tried to give him some galbi(Korean BBQ Beef) from our hands but he licked it away and ate it off the floor. What should I do. When should i start to train him. What is the next step?

P.S Thanks CMT(Michelle) for helping me with facts about Jindos!
(Sorry to heido) (Sorry to lucky for using bad language)

Yahooo!!!! Glad you are already falling in love with the little guy!!

Chows are another Asian breed (from China) that share many of the same characteristics as the Japanese and Korean dogs.

Don't worry about him not eatting the food right out of your hands. Many of these dogs will not take food from hands and will take it elsewhere to eat until they have formed a strong bond with the owner. Just keep things positive and he will come around.

You will have to keep us updated on him and your progress!!

The first thing I would do, especially since he has diarrhea, is to have him checked by a vet. It maybe that the food that you gave him is different that what he got before and he is sensitive to it, but, in my opinion, you ought to be safe rather than sorry.

Do you have his vet records from his previous owner? Is he up to date on all his shots? Has he been wormed? Has he been neutered?

Also, what kind of food are you feeding him and how many times a day?

Sorry for all the questions, but these basic answers will allow others on this board to help you with your "puppy growing paings" more easily and give you better advice!

Re the grabbing the leash and stying - sounds like he is still being leash trained so, yes, this is natural, but, as I mentioned in my PM to you, I would look into obedience/training classes for you and him. It will help you bond and help to teach him the manners that a puppy requires
