Metacam

I posted this a while ago but can't find it. Maybe it didn't go through?

I wanted some advice about Metacam. My 9 month old kitten was spayed two days ago and send home with two syringes for pain. 0.15ml per dose.
On the first day I only managed to get about half of it into her.
This morning she got the full dose. Then I find this place and read some horrifying things about the drug she was given.
She's been sleepy since she came home, but has been eating and drinking ok. She only got about 1 1/2 doses (although I don't know what they used during surgery)
I am sick and terrified over the idea that I may have inadvertently caused her harm.
What can I do? Please help.

I have used it many times in the past with 2 of my kitties and my dog when they were sick. I don't think you will be using it long enough to worry.

Oh and welcome to Pets!

Her second and last dose was today. I will never use it again. But I am still terrified. Should I bring her to the vet to test for any kidney issues that might come up because of this?
Thank you for your response and the welcome.

Although you will indeed find threads all over the Internet about bad experiences with cats metacam..... many members have used it successfully.

Dosing needs to be very carefully administered through.

If your cat is not having (or did not have) a bad reaction, I don't see a reason to worry. (but I am not a vet).
Good luck
